Personal Training Internship

The Opportunity


This part-time position is terrific for someone studying to become a personal trainer and/or a fitness enthusiast (or someone who wants to become one) who wants to learn more about personal training, fitness, and health.


Required Hours

3-4 hours per day, 15 hours per week.

Shifts begin at 5:45am depending on day of the week.


Essential Duties
  • Learn and achieve mastery of the primary training program components with the intent to teach, coach, and lead our members. As you begin to achieve mastery of each component, you’ll be given the opportunity to coach members through sections of the training program.
  • Lead members through their pre-written training programs according to your level of mastery.
  • Keep members on track time-wise to make sure each are getting through the program in the time allotted to them.
  • Direct traffic in high-use areas to make sure everyone has the room they need to perform specific movements while keeping everyone else at an appropriate distance.
  • Encourage members to keep their work areas clean, tidy, and safe – assisting when necessary and appropriate.
  • Assist members to accurately record the results of their workouts.


Other Duties
  • Administrative, Customer Service, Operations, Marketing
  • Learn our Client Relationship Management software. You’ll use this system to perform these routine tasks:
  • Client check-ins
  • Scheduling
  • Create memberships
  • Ring up purchases of pro-shop goods
  • Facilitate client communications in person, on the phone, and via text messages.
  • Assist in light cleaning and tidying throughout the studio throughout your shift.
  • Keep front desk and gym supplies well stocked (pens, facial tissues, hand sanitizer, hair ties, paper towels, etc.).
  • Assist in the collection and creation of social media content.


Job Requirements/Compensation
  • Previous employment in a customer service or hospitality role is required.
  • You are naturally an energetic and enthusiastic person who connects and communicates well with people of different backgrounds and ages.
  • This roll will require you to be able to move independently and lift up to 50 pounds while standing and moving for up to 3 hours at a time.

Required: CPR/AED certificate

Compensation: $18.00 per hour

Benefits: Personal training and/or personal use of the facilities
